Last-30-Days Research Skill: Force Claude to Stay Current

Install this prompt skill and Claude is forced to reason only from the last 30 days of data, cutting out stale context automatically.

Free Claude skill · copy-paste ready · built by the BrainVaultAI team

Claude's training data has a cutoff. For fast-moving topics, AI releases, competitor moves, market conditions, its default response blends current knowledge with stale patterns. The result is confident-sounding but months out of date. This skill flips the constraint. It instructs Claude to reason from recency, flag what it can't know, and structure output around what changed versus what persisted. Pair it with web search tools or paste fresh source material for highest accuracy. Without sources, treat output as a structured hypothesis, not ground truth.

Last-30-Days Research Prompt
I need a last-30-days research brief on: [topic] Rules for this response:
1. Only include information you can attribute to approximately the last 30 days. If something is older, say so explicitly.
2. Clearly separate: "I'm confident this is recent" / "This is likely still current but I can't verify" / "This is from my training data and may be outdated."
3. For anything in the "may be outdated" category, tell me specifically what I should look up to verify.
4. Structure your output as: - What changed in the last 30 days (or likely did) - What stayed the same - What I should go verify myself - The one thing that matters most from this period Do not fill gaps with generic background. If you don't know something recent, say so and tell me where to find it. Topic: [your topic]
Competitor Last-30 Variant
Research brief: What has [competitor name] done in the last 30 days? I want:
- Any product releases, pricing changes, or feature updates
- Any public communications (blog posts, announcements, press)
- Any leadership or team changes you're aware of
- Any customer sentiment shifts based on public signals For each item, tell me: is this from recent knowledge you're confident in, or an inference from older patterns? If you don't have recent data on any category, say: "I have no recent signal here, check [specific source] directly." Do not speculate and present it as fact. Flag everything uncertain.
