Claude has no memory between sessions unless you give it one. This template is the file that fixes that for your personal life, health, family, routines, goals, constraints. Drop it in your home directory or any personal project. Claude reads it at the start of every session and treats it as operating context, not a reminder, a hard constraint. Fill in the bracketed sections honestly. Vague answers produce vague help. The more specific you are about your schedule, health rules, and non-negotiables, the sharper Claude's judgment gets across every session.

CLAUDE.md Calibration Prompt
After setting up your personal CLAUDE.md, paste this into a fresh Claude session with the file loaded:

"I just loaded my personal CLAUDE.md. I want to verify it is actually calibrating you before I rely on it.

Do the following without me giving you any other context:
1. Describe the person you are talking to as if briefing a colleague who is about to take over this conversation.
2. List my top 3 active constraints or limitations as you understand them.
3. Tell me how I prefer to receive information: format, length, tone.
4. Name one thing in my context that seems contradictory or underspecified.
5. Ask me the one clarifying question that would let you serve me significantly better.

If any of your answers are wrong, I will correct you and we will update the file together."

Run this test every time you make a significant change to the file. Do not assume it is working.
