Free prompt pack · copy-paste ready · built by the BrainVaultAI team

Most metrics dashboards show everything and explain nothing. This system uses Claude to help you define what actually belongs in your weekly review, then auto-generate the narrative layer on top of your numbers. Use Prompt 1 once to design your dashboard structure. Use Prompt 2 every week by pasting in your current numbers. The output from Prompt 2 is designed to be pasted directly into a Slack message, email, or doc, no editing required.

Prompt 1: Design Your Dashboard Structure (run once)
Help me design a weekly metrics dashboard for my business. Business type: [DESCRIBE IN ONE SENTENCE]
Stage: [PRE-REVENUE / EARLY / GROWTH / SCALE]
Team size: [NUMBER]
Top three things the business needs to be true to succeed right now: [LIST THEM] Based on this, recommend:
1. The 5-8 metrics that should appear in a weekly review (no more)
2. For each metric: why it matters, what a good week looks like, and what a bad week looks like
3. Which metric is the single leading indicator of overall health
4. One metric you'd cut if we only had time to track three things Be opinionated. No generic metric lists.
Prompt 2: Weekly Narrative Summary (run every week)
Write a weekly metrics narrative for my team based on this week's numbers. Metrics this week:
[PASTE YOUR NUMBERS, format: Metric: Value (vs last week: Value)] Dashboard context:
[PASTE YOUR PROMPT 1 OUTPUT or describe your KPIs briefly] Output format:
- One headline sentence on the week overall (good / mixed / bad, be direct)
- For each metric: one sentence on what happened and what it means
- Top one to two things to address next week
- One thing to celebrate or acknowledge Tone: direct, no spin. If numbers are bad, say so. Under 250 words total. This will be sent to the team, so write it like a message from the founder, not a status report.
