Cold Outreach That Reads Human: 3-Prompt Chain

Run this 3-prompt chain to research the prospect, build a real hook, and write a cold message that bypasses AI detectors and gets replies.

Free prompt pack · copy-paste ready · built by the BrainVaultAI team

AI cold outreach fails because founders skip the research step and go straight to the template. The output sounds like every other message in the inbox. This chain fixes that. Prompt 1 extracts signal from a prospect's public presence. Prompt 2 builds a custom hook from that signal. Prompt 3 writes the message using that hook, specific, short, human. Run all three in the same Claude session. Don't skip Prompt 1 or the output defaults to generic. The specificity is the whole point.

Prompt 1: Prospect Research Extraction
Research this person and tell me: Name: [Name]
Company: [Company URL or LinkedIn URL] Find:
- What they're actively building or talking about right now
- A specific problem their company is visibly dealing with (hiring, scaling, product, market)
- One recent public statement, post, or move that signals their current priority
- Any obvious gap between where they are and where they want to be Do not summarize their LinkedIn bio. Find signal that most people miss. Be specific.
Prompt 2: Hook Builder
Based on this research: [Paste Prompt 1 output] Write 3 opening hooks for a cold outreach message. Each hook must:
- Reference something specific about them (not generic praise)
- Create a natural transition to a relevant problem I solve
- Be 1-2 sentences max
- Sound like something a real person would text, not a sales email My offer: [one sentence on what you do and for whom]
Do not pitch in the hook. Just open.
Prompt 3: Write the Message
Write a cold outreach message using Hook #[choose one] from the previous step. Rules:
- Total length: 4-6 sentences
- No subject line creativity, keep it plain (Re: [Topic])
- Hook → one sentence on the problem → one sentence on what I do → one low-friction CTA
- CTA should be a question, not a calendar link
- No filler: no 'I hope this finds you well', no 'I came across your profile'
- Write in first person, past tense where possible, natural rhythm Channel: [email / LinkedIn DM / Twitter DM]
Tone: direct, peer-to-peer, not salesy
